where are binance located

Formerly based in China, the Binance cryptocurrency exchange is now based in the European island of Malta. While the servers and headquarters of the Binance cryptocurrency exchange are still in Japan, South Korea, and Hong Kong, Malta is its official country.

The purpose of moving the company to Malta is that running a cryptocurrency change is fully legal and regulated in Malta. Cryptocurrency trading in Malta does not exist in a bit of a legal grey area like it does in many other countries.

For this reason, there is no risk of Binance suddenly becoming illegal under already existing laws. Basing the exchange does not prevent Binance from running into legal problems in many countries.

However, Binance does have a home country where running a cryptocurrency exchange is fully supported by law.
